SpinTel launches Ultra WiFi 5G Modem with plug-and-play setup
SpinTel has announced the availability of its new Ultra WiFi 5G Modem for customers across Australia.
The modem, which is available with all SpinTel 5G Home Internet Plans, is powered by the Optus 5G network and is designed to deliver high speeds and straightforward setup for residential and small business users. The company states there is no need for a technician to install the device, as it operates with a plug-and-play approach.
The Ultra WiFi 5G Modem features support for WiFi 6, which allows for improved wireless performance and stability. According to SpinTel, the modem is capable of connecting up to 128 devices at once, making it suitable for homes with multiple users and a significant number of smart devices.
Liam Bal, Chief Executive Officer of SpinTel, described the modem as an advance for the company's wireless internet services.
"By combining Optus' 5G infrastructure with advanced modem technology, we're giving customers a faster, more reliable and hassle-free internet experience, ideal for smart homes, streaming, gaming and remote work," said Mr Bal.
The device comes with features such as dual 2.5GB Ethernet ports for high-speed wired connections, USB-C power with support for tethered device charging, and an LCD signal indicator which assists users in optimally placing the modem within the home. SpinTel emphasises the simplicity of the modem's plug-and-play installation process, requiring only the insertion of a SIM card to begin operation.
Plan details
SpinTel's 5G Home Internet plans begin at AUD $59 per month, offering unlimited data without lock-in contracts. The company is also providing a 14-day satisfaction guarantee, which allows customers to cancel their plan if download speeds consistently fall below the typical rate specified during the trial period.
Liam Bal pointed to the changing demands on home connectivity, particularly with the rise of bandwidth-intensive activities taking place in homes and small businesses. He said the combination of the new modem and 5G plans will support users with requirements for stable video streaming, online gaming, connected devices, and telecommuting.
Technical support and customer experience
The inclusion of an LCD signal indicator is intended to assist customers in finding the most effective location for the modem within their home or office space. The USB-C charging also provides flexibility for powering and charging other devices from the modem itself. For users who prefer wired connections for certain devices, the dual 2.5GB Ethernet ports support high data transfer rates.
Industry context
SpinTel's announcement of the Ultra WiFi 5G Modem comes amidst ongoing competition among Australian telecommunications providers seeking to expand their 5G home internet offerings. The company's plans leverage the Optus Mobile Network, which is one of the main 5G networks available in Australia.
SpinTel positions its offering as suitable for both home and small business customers, citing the ability to support a large number of simultaneous device connections through WiFi 6. There is an emphasis on ease of use and customer satisfaction through the availability of a satisfaction guarantee and the lack of long-term contractual commitments.
